Description

The Queen’s Golden Jubilee sampler celebrated 50 years since the accession to the throne in 2002.
Queen Elizabeth II succeeded her father to the throne upon his death in 1952 and was formally crowned in 1953.
This design is now available again – just in case you missed it the first time around, and you wish to complete the collection!

This sampler is based on the beautiful St Edward crown which was used for the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
The design has sumptuous purply reds and shades of gold.

It will be easy to obtain a frame for the stitched sampler because it fits a standard 8″ x 10″ frame.

about the St Edward’s crown
This crown is named after Saint Edward the Confessor. It has been used for Coronations since the 13th century.
The current version was made for Charles II in 1661.
The crown is made of solid 22 carat gold, it is 12″ high and weighs 2.23 kg (4.9 lb).
The image of this crown is used to mark the royal authority of the Queen, on coats of arms, logos and other insignia .
The St Edward’s Crown forms the centrepiece of the Crown Jewels display in the Tower of London.
